If you have tried heat welding new sheet flooring material like Medintone and had trouble caused by the excess carbon residue - you’re not alone. Turbo has been flooded with requests on how to heat weld Medintone from installers out on the field since the issue came up. After extensive testing, we found that techniques and tricks can only go so far to get a proper weld. The issues keep coming back around even with the best and most experienced heat welders. Something had to change.
We came to the conclusion that the best way to get a good consecutive weld would be to create a new tool that can counteract this problem. After months of designing and R&D Turbo creating a brand new heat welding Nozzle that highlights two functions simultaneously. Turbo is introducing the new “Turbo Carbonless Nozzle”.
Turbo Carbonless Nozzle
The Turbo Carbonless Nozzle significantly reduces the amount of carbon residue produced when heat welding with the Medintone camouflage welding rod. By reducing the carbon residue produced it keeps the seam clean and allows you to weld stronger welds. Most importantly, when you come back to skive the rod off you can see that the nozzle produces a high quality finish without ruining the flooring material around the seam or the seam itself. It does so by keeping the rod from getting clogged in your welding tip and welding the rod into the seam for a clean finish. This functionality alone will save you time and money from repair work and having to fix your welds after the job is done.
The second functionality the Turbo Carbonless Nozzle addresses is the scorching or burning of the flooring material when heat welding. We built this heat welding nozzle with the Precision Nozzle pre-heating jet technology. This technology makes it nearly impossible to scorch the material when welding. By combining both features into the Turbo Carbonless Nozzle, you can consistently heat weld Medintone sheet flooring material and other heat sensitive materials with superior results. No more damaging the material or the welding rod on the job.
